Art Direction & Photography
Original sin according to the Bible, and many other religions is the belief that the fall of man stemmed from the disobedience of Adam and Eve when they consumed the Forbidden Fruit in the Garden of Eden. In my project titled “Original Sin: The Art of the Human Form'' I experiment with and pursue the idea that the human body is not a sin, but the opposite: an art form.
Society is built on the belief that nudity, lust, love and sex are taboo; therefore, when one is presented with the idea of nudity and nakedness, they tend to feel uncomfortable and “dirty”. My goal was to explore this belief in the most raw way possible; by photographing people in their most natural state.
A lifetime of society associating nudity with being taboo, bad, and “wrong” is what has created the ultimate belief that the human nude is a sin. In reality the human form is artistic, abstract and beautiful; therefore, through my project “Original Sin: The Art of the Human Form” my photographs will demonstrate the opposing idea that the human nude is an art form rather than pornographic or sex associated with sin.
All models were over the age of 18 at the time of shoot and signed legally binding privacy and consent forms (contracts).
